Center for Student Opportunity, a 501(c)(3) national nonprofit, recently released the College Access & Opportunity Guide – the first comprehensive college guidebook aimed to prepare first-generation, low-income, rural, and minority college-bound students for college and to help these students understand the many college opportunities that exist for them.

The College Access & Opportunity Guide features in-depth profiles of over 230 colleges and universities identified for their commitment to serving and supporting students from first-generation, underserved backgrounds. Comprehensive profiles highlight the outreach efforts, scholarship and financial aid opportunities, and support and retention services that each institution offers. The guidebook also includes a four-step plan developed in concert with KnowHow2GO that provides students with guidance on how to prepare themselves for college, find the right school, and apply for financial aid.
